Embracing Africa

The Embracing Africa Project is coming to Coventry! This festival will feature some amazing acts ranging from a colourful African Kings and Queens Parade to Drummers and Azonto dance Performances! With a DJ, Comedian, a children’s dance group and FREE entrance, this is one BIG event you do not want to miss!

I popped into town with my Nikon D800 70-200 f2.8 mk 2 and my Pentax me super and 85mm f2 film camera to take some shots of my city and was pleasantly surprised to find this fantastic event which was all about embracing the culture of Africa. whilst there I photographed and spoke to a lot of people of all varied cultures (mainly African) and the buzz in the air was absolutely superb. the Vibrance that was displayed from there clothing was portrayed in their attitudes. i think is was great to see the real africa and not the Africa that has been forced down our throat by the media of starvation famine and war and the true spirit of the majority. i managed to take some shots as shown below
